2026 Mercedes CLA - design, interiors, features
Design and dimension changes
One of the biggest changes in the new-gen model is its all-new design, which is inspired by the CLA concept. The new-gen CLA has grown bigger as compared to the outgoing model.
While the front appears identical to the new C-class, it does get a distinctive front grille with illumination and a new bumper design. Additionally, the rear design is massively inspired by the CLA concept as it features the connecting light bar and new oval-shaped LED lights.
Another key highlight of its new design is the frameless doors with flush-type door handles and the choices of 10 different alloy wheels that range from 17-inch to 19-inch size options.
New cabin features
On the inside, it is equipped with a completely new cabin design that features a connected dashboard. The vertical layout of the new dashboard has three screens that offer a seamless experience for the front passengers.
The key highlights of the new cabin are its triple digital screens that support the latest MBUX operating system. The digital console is a 10.25-inch setup while the infotainment and the passenger screen are 14-inch tabs.
The new features of the CLA include the panoramic sunroof, 16-speaker Burmester system, 64-bit ambient lights, heated front seats, and a single-zone climate control system.
The new CLA is also the first-ever Mercedes car to feature the new MB.OS that controls the automated driving, infotainment system, driving dynamics, ride comfort, and charging for the electric variants.

New CLA powertrain options - No diesel on offer!
With the new-gen CLA, Mercedes has axed the diesel engine completely. However, it will be initially offered in two EV powertrain options, later followed by a hybrid-petrol engine.
Electric powertrain options
As of now, the global markets will get two electric options on the new-gen CLA. These include CLA 250+ and CLA 350 4MATIC.
The CLA 250+ is equipped with the EQ technology that puts out 268bhp and 335Nm of peak power and torque. It can also do a claimed driving range of up to 792km. Moreover, 0-100kmph is achieved in just 6.7 seconds.
Meanwhile, the all-wheel drive 350 4MATIC gets a dual-motor setup on both axles. It produces 349bhp and 515Nm of peak torque. The claimed driving range of this option stands at 771km and 0-100kmph is achieved in just 4.9 seconds.
Both EV options are supported by the rapid charging tech as the new CLA is based on the 800-volt architecture. Hence, it can be recharged with 325km of range within 10 minutes with the help of a 320kW charger.
Hybrid petrol option
Mercedes-Benz also plans to introduce a new 1.5-litre hybrid petrol engine with an 8-speed automatic transmission by late 2025 internationally.
This engine will get the support of a 48V 1.3kW electric setup to help improve efficiency in the city.
